Digital photography workshops.

Ever wished you fully understood your camera and could take better photographs of which you could be proud? Well now you can.

Sign up for one of our residential digital photography workshops with expert tuition from Caroline Bloor MA(hons) BA

Based on two nights at the Woodlands Lodge Hotel the course is intended as a fast-track for beginners, but will be tailored to the people attending where possible. Topics are likely to include

Camera menu and display
Program mode and why to use it
Tv (S), Av (A) M and picture modes and what they do
Focussing options and over-rides
Digital quality settings, ISO setting and auto white balance
Aperture setting and understanding depth of field
Shutter speed control and correct usage
Picture composition
Selective subject positioning

You will need to bring,

A digital camera complete with clear memory card and instruction manual (if poss)
A notebook and pen

The weekend will include out-of-doors photography and short trips into woodland for practical tasks. There is little walking involved but participants are advised to bring suitable outdoor wear and footwear.

The Program

To take advantage of the delights of this well known New Forest Country House Hotel and to offer the best possible learning environment to participants yet also provide a relaxing break for non-participating partners, the course runs over two days at the weekend.

Friday; arrival during the afternoon, time to settle in and familiarise yourself with the hotel and local area. Evening- welcome drink introductions and three course dinner with coffee.
Saturday; 9.30 start with coffee and briefing from Caroline. Snack luncheons are available for purchase in the hotel. The course continues during the afternoon finishing at approx 4.00-4.30pm. Dinner will be served in the evening with the opportunity to discuss the day.
Sunday; after another hearty New Forest breakfast Caroline will delve into further aspects of the mysteries of your camera and composition with the opportunity for more practical work. A traditional Sunday lunch or bar snacks may be purchased in the Hotel. Continuing into the afternoon following a final tea and cake and review of the past two days we say good bye.

Non participating partners.

If you partner does not share your passion for photography, the Woodlands Lodge Hotel offers the perfect venue for a relaxing weekend break, with the Forest on the doorstep and many of the attractions being only a short distance away, non participants will be able to enjoy all the delights of the Hotel and the wonderful surroundings leaving your partner to his/her course and you to simply relax.
