Arrive Christmas Eveto enjoy afternoon tea and cakes in the comfort of the Woodlands Room which looks out on to our grounds and the New Forest beyond. Our special Christmas Eve dinner will start with champagne cocktails in the reception hall at 7:00pm, with some light musical entertainment playing all the Christmas favourites. Dinner will commence at 8.00pm with a quality four course menu. If you’d like to visit a local church for Midnight mass, directions & times will be available. Christmas Daywill start with full English breakfast served between 8:30 - 10am. Relax for the rest of the morning with a leisurely walk or a short drive to the local Deer sanctuary to see how Rudolph and Co fared on the busiest night in their calendar. A traditional three course lunch will be served at 12:45pm - the main course being lashings of roasted New Forest turkey with all the trimmings. A walk or nap after lunch may then be in order! Cake and tea will be available all afternoon. A dinner buffet (more delicious food) will be available from 7pm in the Wedgewood room. The reception hall will be set aside for those who just wish to relax while parlour games will be available in the lounge with a light hearted festive quiz starting at 9.00pm for those wishing to take part. Boxing DayFor those who like to start the day bright and early a continental breakfast is available from 9.00 but, for those wanting to start the day a little later, a champagne brunch will be served from 10:00am. There will be a car treasure hunt for those who wish to partake. It will take between 3-4 hours and incorporates an excellent tour of the New Forest, an ideal way to see many ‘off the beaten track’ areas. It is not a timed exercise. The participant/team who gets the most questions right wins a bottle of champagne! Other attractions on Boxing Day include New Forest point-to-point pony racing. Dinner will be served at 6:00pm, after which some games and other activities will be organised for those who wish to participate. December 27thUnfortunately some people will have to depart today, but not until we give you a hearty breakfast to send you on your way. For those lucky enough to be staying on for extra nights we have many ideas for days out and other activities which Hampshire and the New Forest have to offer. You may, for example, want to tackle the Sales; both Southampton and Bournemouth have excellent shopping centres. Or maybe visit some of the lovely local coastal towns & villages. |
