We are almost back……

Wow, so it’s been a long time since we closed our doors in December!! but, we are almost there and so looking forward to being able to welcome guests to stay with us from the 17th May – indoors and out!

We have been busy and whilst we have been closed we have built a beautiful new terrace in the back garden. It is so pretty!!! and has been fantastic for us to be able to do al fresco dining.

This has also been brilliant to get the team back together and start preparing for our guests return. Head Chef Darren has not lost any of his sparkle and his dishes and new menu are sensational and we can’t wait for you to try it.

We are all so pleased to be welcoming guests soon, but appreciate despite the vaccination programme Covid still remains, we would like to assure all guests that we have not reduced our efforts to keep the transmission of the virus as low as possible and we have a full Covid policy and we are more than happy to go through with any concerns or worries with our guests.

The Spring has well and truly sprung in the last week, and the rhododendron buds have started to appear so it’s an ideal time to visit us and explore the acres of open space in the New Forest…. did we mention you can access it from the back garden 🙂

We look forward to seeing you all soon, and take care

From all of us at the Woodlands Lodge xx

COVID-19 Update- March 2021

It has felt like a long winter, and I think everyone is feeling the same right now!

However, I think we are all starting to have hope again. We are all hopeful that the vaccination program keeps rolling out and hopeful infections from Covid-19 keep falling, and hopeful we will be able to see our family and friends again soon, and go out!

We are hopeful that the hotel will reopen fully on the 17th May in line with the government guidance and we will also start al fresco dining (on the new patio!!) from 16th April – we will be open for weekends – brunch, lunch and afternoon tea.

We are still not on the phones (until 12th April) but you can email us and I will get back to you as soon as I can. We have already started taking bookings for accommodation, meals and parties. We also so looking forward to hosting weddings once more! So please let us know if we can help you and your family and friends get together by hosting you this Summer.

We are so thankful to our staff who have all been amazing and we are looking forward as a team to welcoming back our equally fantastic guests.

We are so grateful to all of you who have supported us through the pandemic, and continue to champion us- thank you so much.

Take care and looking forward to seeing you soon

COVID-19 update December!

Dear guests,

We are so excited to welcome you back to the hotel from 2nd December. We have been decorating and so we are all Christmas ready and whereas it’s not the usual December we hope to still give you our Woodlands sparkle and put you into the festive spirit!

We have currently been placed into Tier 2, which means we can at the moment only welcome guests from Tier 1 and Tier 2 in one household or a support bubble, and business meetings up to 6 guests.

As we all navigate these uncertain times please bear with us whilst we get to grips with the new rules, and we really can’t wait for normal service to resume soon.

Take care and stay safe.

April ‘Corona’ 2020

Greetings from the New Forest!

We hope that you had a happy and healthy Easter? Although, perhaps not had been originally planned. This is a a strange and frightening time for us all, and whereas we know that we can’t welcome you to the hotel at the moment, we look forward to the days we can open our doors to you once more and share in your celebrations and get-aways!

We are closed we think (although we will be taking government advice) until 1st June 2020. We have unfortunately had to cancel or postpone all visits and events until this time. We are still here though and so if you have a stay or event with us later in the year and are concerned about anything please do get in touch – e mail is probably the best at the moment ([email protected]) or leave a message on our answer phone. We are offering everyone the opportunity to postpone any event or stay, as we above all want our guests to feel safe when they visit us and excited to visit us and not worried or anxious.

Our thoughts are with all our bride and grooms who have had to postpone their weddings, and we appreciate their great spirit during such a disappointing time. We promise we will give you a day to remember when your big day comes.

To any couples worried please get in touch, i have been in touch with all couples until the end of August- and once i have a clearer idea i will be in touch with our September and beyond brides, but please do not worry alone – we can always chat plan B now. I am here to help.

What, are we doing with ourselves during this time? well…. We have been glossing like crazy beasts! We have now glossed the reception, restaurant, bar and breakfast room and on our way down the corridor to the toilet!

We have also taken this opportunity to go outside and start some of our outdoors projects, and whereas it is a little challenging as we can only purchase necessities, Rob has painted all the dormer windows and repainted all our fascia boards in the back garden – he has a just a little more to go and then i will post a photo – but it’s looking fabulous.

We have also taken a sledge hammer to a rather rickety wall going to the 2nd paddock and hopefully we can now open this space up to join the main garden in being a tranquil garden of relaxation. I am using We in the royal sense- i tell you Rob will be as fit as a fiddle by the end of this!

It has not been all plain DIY sailing, as some strong winds a few weeks ago brought down one of our big trees- thankfully missing all main structures and no one was injured. The only casualty a few fence panels. Our neighbours were fabulous at 2m apart from us helping chain saw the branches out of the road and shore up the fences – thank you! Again, fortunately we were able to get an emergency tree surgeon to sort out the rest of it… quite messy but the resulting wood chips look delightful on the front on the hotel drive way – my contribution to the DIY’ing. Oh, boy did i ache after that- the area is bigger than it looks!!!

We will continue to paint, garden and get on top of our to do list – always massive, so when it is safe to do so we can re open our (freshly painted) doors to you all and give you the best New Forest holiday. I think after this we will all need a get away.

We wish to thank everyone for all their support they have given us, and also to all the key workers keeping us safe at this challenging time.

We wish all our best wishes to you and your families from us at Woodlands and we can’t wait to see you and hear your quarantine stories soon.

Best wishes and stay safe,

Imogene Anglaret

COVID-19 UPDATE

COVID – 19 UPDATE

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began we have been taking the advice of the government and World Health Organisation to ensure the wellbeing of our guests and staff.

Following the most recent advice we have taken the difficult decision to close the hotel during this crisis (full closure from 4.30pm on 22nd March 2020). Please be sure that, as soon as it’s safe to do so we will be up and running again with another tale to tell.

We will be contactable via e mail during this closure, so if you have an upcoming event or booking you can easily contact us. All affected or potentially affected bookings have already been contacted.

We will also continue to take reservations after 1st June 2020.

From the bottom of our hearts we wish to thank everyone for the support and love you have given us during this difficult time, it really means so much to Robert, myself and the whole team and we look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel as soon as it is safe to do so.

We wish you all our very best wishes to you and your families during this challenging time and stay safe!

Take Care
