In the New Forest

Woodlands prides itself on being a truly dog friendly hotel where dogs can enjoy a stay in the New Forest as much as their owners.

Dogs are welcome in all rooms apart from the Standard rooms. There is a £10 per dog per night charge.

Here’s what we offer our

four legged guests

Dogs are welcomed in our bar and lounge common areas.
Guests are welcome to dine with their dogs for breakfast, lunch and dinner in our bar area.
We offer 11 dog friendly guest rooms – two with direct garden access and one of which has its own private garden.
Only our Standard Double rooms do not accept dogs.
There is a £10 nightly surcharge per dog staying with us.
Dogs receive a welcome pack containing a dog treat, blanket & towel on arrival.
An outside tap is provided to clean mucky paws before entering the hotel.
We enjoy direct forest access from our hotel grounds, for wonderful woodland dog walks.

Wondering what to do?

Our New Forest Hotel, and the immediate area, offers a wealth of activities and attractions to entertain the young and old(er) alike. Once you’ve exhausted the forest trails and paths directly surrounding the Hotel. Our team will happily recommend a suitable itinerary to help you make the most of your stay in The National Park.

If you have any questions or would like to chat through your plans please speak to a member of the team, we’ll gladly offer our recommendations and share our knowledge on the local area with you.

We find that the majority of our guests enjoy being able to access the forest by foot directly from their New Forest hotel, and Woodlands offers the perfect location to indulge this. There is also a lovely local dog friendly pub called ‘The Game Keeper’ which is a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

Woodlands is perfect for a break with your dog as our dog Max will testify! We can confidently recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Ozzie, our border collie, is quite impressed with hotel life, having a bed to lie on in the bar and lots of people admiring him, plus the delicious chew bone left for him in the room on top of the dog towels. Thank you to all for a much needed mini break.

We had a lovely break at Woodlands with our 2 dogs. Breakfast and all the staff we encountered were so good. Also the fact that the dogs were so welcomed and catered for was excellent, as was the direct access from the room to the garden and forest.

This is a lovely dog friendly hotel so if you have dog, would definitely recommend it. (We never had a dog with us but loved how they are thought of with dog cushions , various water bowls dotted etc and are definitely thought of as one of the family.)

The most dog friendly hotel I have ever been to, dog blanket, dog towel and a rice bone waiting for your hound in your room on arrival and plenty of dog beds around the bar area and in the lounge where you can have your dog with you whilst you eat, absolutely fantastic.
