“Seasonality, locality, quality and sustainability. The four key points that make up our food philosophy”
Our Cattle Grid restaurant offers an idyllic dining experience in the heart of The New National Forest Park. Punctuated by pure flavours and driven by a dedication to quality and a passion for seasonal produce.
A word from our chef…
“Here in the heart of the New Forest, we’re lucky to have an amazing array of natural produce and ingredients directly on our doorstep. I like to take the best of what’s on offer, and let the quality speak for itself.
We aim to please. So if there’s something you would like that’s not included on the menu, please ask and we will do our best to accommodate you.”
Our dinner bed and breakfast package gives our guests the best rate to enjoy a 3 course meal in our restaurant, accommodation and breakfast.
Dinner & Lunch
Woodlands serves a light lunch menu from 12 – 2pm, and an a la carte dinner menu from 6-8.30pm
By glass or by bottle
We carefully curate our wine list, working in tandem with our kitchen to ensure that the wines we select pair perfectly with the dishes on our menus.
New Forest Marque
At Woodlands Lodge, in our Cattle Grid restaurant, we buy local New Forest and seasonal produce as much as possible. We’re also proudly part of the New Forest Marque, which recognises outstanding quality and locality.
As an independent New Forest hotel it’s extremely important for us to use locally sourced ingredients and support the forest economy wherever possible. Not only is the produce grown and reared here of impeccable quality, but buying locally also helps us to reduce the impact that food production has on the environment.
We also grow our own herbs onsite at Woodlands within sniffing distance of the restaurant.
